I am proud to announce the upcoming arrival of my daughter's book. While I have not read the finished copy, I have read her drafts before final editing by her publisher. This is an excellent book with an unusual premise. New soul Ana is new. For thousands of years in Range, a million souls have been reincarnated over and over, keeping their memories and experiences from previous lifetimes. When Ana was born, another soul vanished, and no one knows why. No soul Even Ana's own mother thinks she's a nosoul, an omen of worse things to come, and has kept her away from society. To escape her seclusion and learn whether she'll be reincarnated, Ana travels to the city of Heart, but its citizens are afraid of what her presence means. When dragons and sylph attack the city, is Ana to blame? Heart Sam believes Ana's new soul is good and worthwhile. When he stands up for her, their relationship blooms. But can he love someone who may live only once, and will Ana's enemies--human and creature alike--let them be together? Ana needs to uncover the mistake that gave her someone else's life, but will her quest threaten the peace of Heart and destroy the promise of reincarnation for all? Jodi Meadows expertly weaves soul-deep romance, fantasy, and danger into an extraordinary tale of new life. Add Comment The Shack 12/23/2011
I recently discovered a book in the pile at my bookshelf. I'm not sure where it came from or how I happened to have it. At first I wasn't going to read it as it is not a genre that I usually read. But something kept drawing me to it and I finally sat down and became completely engrossed in this book by Wm. Paul Young. My summary is paraphrased from the back cover of the book. Mack's youngest daughter is abducted during a family vacation. Although she is not found, evidence is discovered in an abandoned shack that she may have been the victim of a horrific murder. Four years later, he is in deep despair, his faith in God destroyed. He receives a note which appears to be from God inviting him back to that shack for a weekend. Mack journeys to the shack in the dead of winter. His startling discovery will change his ideas forever. I loved this book. Mack and his family were completely believable and I could easily imagine myself having similar reactions to the experiences. Some aspects of my own beliefs were confirmed and some were challenged. I don't think you will be disappointed if you choose to read it.
